Acoustic Imaging QPS Qastor Regional Training Workshop March 2025.

Thanks to all the marine pilots who attended our free Qastor workshop at the Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI) Conference in beautiful Cairns.

We had a full house with pilots from PNG, NZ and all parts of Australia (West Coast, Groote Island, East Coast).

The workshop focussed on the latest developments in QPS Qastor Software and provided pilots with a better understanding of how to use various attributes and capabilities of their PPUs in Qastor – including:

Cruise ships: – using Qastor Messages to address common Cruise Ship challenges
Tides: – tide modelling Australian and NZ tides in Qastor
Multipath: – placing PPU antennas in cruise ships
Profiles: – customising Qastor use and sharing between all pilots
Pilot Presentation: – practical use presentation from Australia

Thanks to Arne Schotanus, the Qastor- QPS Product Lead from The Netherlands who co-presented with Acoustic Imaging’s very own Lead Scientist Nicole Bergersen.

Special thanks also goes to Lindsay Cavanaugh, PANSW Sydney for presenting an overview of how Ports Australia NSW Sydney pilots use the XR2-Qastor on Cruise Ships – conversations on this topic continued well into the evening!
