New MBES Installed for Fremantle Ports – March 2025
Doug spent last week working with Fremantle Ports installing their new multibeam echosounder system (MBES) onboard the FP RESPONSE.
The MBES solution consists of an R2Sonic 2024V, a POS MV Oceanmaster, an AML Oceanographic AML-3 SVP, and QPS Qinsy and Qimera software for data acquisition and processing.
Stage 1 was completed while the vessel was in dry dock so we could:
-inspect the moonpool added to the FP RESPONSE
-mount the key hardware
-and do a dimensional control survey of critical mount and reference points.

Fremantle Ports New MBES Stage 2 will commence in a couple of weeks when the vessel returns to the water and full commissioning can continue.
